Meredith Guthrie is an Honorary Researcher at the School of Global Affairs, Lancaster University. Her work focuses on the delegation and expression of royal authority during periods of child kingship.
Her doctoral thesis analyzed the minority government of Richard II (1377-1380), investigating how the political community managed governance during the king's childhood.
Research trends include interdisciplinary exploration of medieval monarchy systems, constitutional evolution, and political dynamics in 14th-century England. She is affiliated with the Centre for War and Diplomacy.
