Mercer Gary is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy in Drexel University's Department of English and Philosophy. She holds a dual-title PhD in Philosophy and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies from Penn State University (2022), an MA from Georgia State University (2017), and a BA from Smith College (2015).
Her research examines feminist bioethics, care ethics, and technology relations. She analyzes care work systems, technomoral change, and disability justice frameworks, particularly during public health emergencies. Gary serves as a Presidential Fellow at The Hastings Center and co-edits the International Journal of Feminist Approaches to Bioethics blog.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on care ethics applications in health crises, feminist critiques of technology, and intersectional approaches to disability justice. Recent work addresses pandemic recovery, AI ethics in caregiving, and decolonial feminist praxis.
