Merce Llugany Olle

Mercè Llugany Olle is a researcher at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), affiliated with the Department of Animal Biology, Plant Biology and Ecology. Her work focuses on plant physiology, particularly biofortification strategies using selenium, salinity stress mitigation, and phytoremediation. She holds a Ph.D. (1994) and Licenciatura (1990) from UAB.

Research Interests: Selenium bioavailability in crops, plant responses to abiotic stress (salinity, aluminum toxicity), and sustainable agricultural practices. Her projects emphasize functional food development and environmental biotechnology applications.
