Menno-Jan Kraak is a Full Professor at the University of Twente's Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, leading the Department of Geo-information Processing. He holds a PhD in Cartography from Delft University of Technology and a cum laude Master's from Utrecht University's Faculty of Geographical Sciences. His expertise spans cartography, GIS, geovisualization, and spatio-temporal analytics. Kraak served as President of the International Cartographic Association (2015-2019) and chairs the GIMA program, a collaborative MSc initiative across Dutch universities.
