Mengqian Chen

Dr. Mengqian Chen is a Lecturer in Finance at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, since 2023. She holds a PhD and MSc in Finance from the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on empirical corporate finance, including cash management, corporate financing strategies, and stock market reactions to securities issuance. She is a member of the School's Finance research cluster.

Research Interests: Dr. Chen examines how firms manage cash reserves alongside equity issuance decisions, investigates stock market responses to seasoned equity offerings (SEOs), and analyzes corporate financing patterns. Her work contributes to understanding capital structure dynamics and market efficiency in corporate finance.
