About
Meltem ERYILDIZ is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Istanbul Beykent University since 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Yildiz Technical University (2020) and has contributed extensively to additive manufacturing, biomedical engineering, and polymer material science.
- Doctorate: Yildiz Technical University (2020), thesis on polylactic acid/halloysite nanotube tissue scaffolds via foam injection molding
- Master’s: Yildiz Technical University (2014), thesis on protective gas atmospheres in magnesium alloy melting
- Bachelor’s: Yildiz Technical University (2004)
Her research focuses on Additive Manufacturing (3D/4D printing), Biomedical Engineering (tissue scaffolds, spinal implants), and Materials Science (polymer nanocomposites, magnesium alloys). Recent work addresses thermal optimization in 4D-printed medical devices and mechanical enhancement of 3D-printed composites.
Key trends in her publications include biodegradable polymer blends (PLA/PCL), graphene oxide reinforcement, and finite element analysis for structural validation. She integrates computational modeling with experimental testing to improve biomedical and aerospace applications.
Administrative roles include Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit Coordinator (2023) and Commission Membership (2024) at Beykent University. Teaching responsibilities span Measurement Techniques, Manufacturing Processes, and Fluid Mechanics in English and Turkish.
