Melissa Reed

Melissa Reed, Ed.D., is Professor and Chair of the Division of Education at Immaculata University, where she has served since August 2015. She previously directed the Master Teacher Program at Gwynedd Mercy University and brings more than twenty years of combined K-12 and higher-education experience to her current role.

• Ed.D. in Educational Leadership – Walden University

Research & Scholarship: Dr. Reed’s scholarly agenda is anchored in five interlocking themes: (1) addressing the national teacher and administrator shortage, (2) purposeful integration of instructional technology, (3) multicultural and global education frameworks, (4) educational leadership development, and (5) evidence-based curriculum design. Her work has been presented at venues ranging from local school districts to the International Research Methods Summer School in Limerick, Ireland and the International Education Conference in London.

Grants & Programs: From 2016-2018 she served as Program Director for the federally funded Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language (UISFL) Grant and the Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad. These awards supported the Global Perspectives in Education initiative in Lima, Peru, providing Immaculata undergraduates with supervised student-teaching placements and deep cultural immersion.

Licenses & Certifications: Dr. Reed holds multiple Pennsylvania Instructional II certifications: English 7-12, Mid-Level English 7-9, and Elementary Education K-6.
