Melissa Mesek

Melissa Mesek is a Lecturer in Management at Glasgow Caledonian University. Her research focuses on the third sector, community-based participatory research, business research methods, and creative pedagogy. She has contributed extensively to studies on refugee entrepreneurs in rural regions, policy implementation challenges in Scotland, and innovative educational practices.

Her recent publications explore the intersection of Industry 4.0 technologies with e-commerce supply chains, creative teaching strategies for innovation, and financial inclusion mechanisms for BME communities. Themes across her work include socio-economic inclusion, rural development, and interdisciplinary approaches to entrepreneurship.

Mesek completed her PhD in 2024 with a thesis on the empowerment of women tech entrepreneurs in Scottish and Indian SMEs. She collaborates internationally, particularly between Lower Saxony and Lanarkshire, and engages in activities addressing socio-economic equity and community-driven research.
