Melissa Graham, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at Eastern Washington University (EWU), within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics. Her expertise focuses on equity-directed instructional practices in mathematics and teacher learning through Lesson Study. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Science Education (2020), an M.S. in Mathematics (2003), and dual B.A. degrees in Secondary Mathematics Education and Physics (2001).
Her research emphasizes preservice and practicing mathematics teachers' development of equitable instructional strategies, particularly using Lesson Study as a collaborative tool. She serves as CSTEM’s Faculty Fellow for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice, and actively participates in the department’s College in the High School program. Graham’s work underscores the intersection of pedagogy, equity, and teacher professional growth.
