Melissa Frye is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Central Florida's College of Business. She holds a Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology and undergraduate degree from Florida State University. A faculty member since 1999, her research specializes in corporate governance and financial institutions, with publications in Journal of Business, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Business Venturing.
Research examines governance mechanisms, bank director incentives, and compensation design. Her work has been presented at Harvard Business School, Federal Reserve conferences, and international finance associations. Teaching expertise includes corporate finance, with multiple teaching awards received at UCF.
Prior to academia, she consulted on investment strategies and executive compensation packages for pension funds and corporations. Awards recognize contributions to corporate finance literature through empirical analysis of governance structures.
