Melissa Fanshawe

Associate Professor Melissa Fanshawe is based at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Education, specializing in mathematics curriculum and pedagogy. With over 25 years of experience in K-12 education as a teacher and administrator, she focuses on preparing pre-service teachers for mathematics instruction and enhancing accessibility in education.

Her research encompasses mathematics education, inclusive practices for students with vision impairments, and online learning efficacy. She holds a BA from Griffith University, GDipEd from QUT, MSpecEd from the University of Newcastle, and a PhD from USQ.

Professor Fanshawe has received significant recognition, including:

She actively contributes to disability advocacy as Vision Australia's LEGO Braille Bricks Ambassador and co-President of the South Pacific Educators of Vision Impairment.
