Melis Irfan

Melis Irfan is a Research Fellow at the CosmoStat laboratory of the Institute of Research into the Fundamental Laws of the Universe (IRFU) within the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Research Focus:
Her work spans three interconnected domains:

• Modeling diffuse Galactic emissions to advance Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) separation techniques
• Spectral analysis of synchrotron and free-free emissions using C-BASS survey data
• Sparsity-based separation of thermal dust from CMB polarization signals

Her methodology bridges astrophysical observations with statistical computational approaches.

Laboratory Affiliation:
Since September 2016, she has collaborated with Jérôme Bobin at CosmoStat, developing novel component separation techniques for astrophysical datasets. Her research supports both ISM studies and cosmological B-mode detection efforts.
