Melda ENGİNSU

Melda ENGİNSU is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Uskudar University. She holds a PhD in Theatre Criticism and Dramaturgy from Istanbul University (2024) and has extensive experience in literary and theater translation. Her research focuses on the intersection of translation theory and practice, particularly in adapting theatrical works for Turkish stages.

• Education: BSc in American Culture & Literature (Kadir Has University, 2012), MSc in Translation Studies (Okan University, 2016), PhD in Theatre Criticism (Istanbul University, 2024)

Her research interests include descriptive translation studies, cultural adaptation in theater, and the role of translation in repertoire formation. Recent work analyzes Shakespearean adaptations in Turkish theater (e.g., Macbeth translations). She co-authored the textbook Çeviribilim and contributed to the BAP-funded project investigating translation technologies' impact on student performance.

Enginsu has presented at international conferences like Britgrad 2025 and actively participates in academic projects enhancing translation pedagogy.
