Melanie Adrian

Melanie Adrian is an Associate Professor at Carleton University's Department of Law and Legal Studies. Her research examines rights of minorities in religiously diverse societies, focusing on religious freedom, multiculturalism, and legal secularism. She has published extensively on French veil debates, European human rights, and Muslim integration across Canada and Europe.

Her recent projects include Placement, Preservation and Perseverance: Afghan at-risk scholars (IDRC 2022-2024) and Young and Muslim in Canada (SSHRC 2018-2020). She has received recognition from The Hill Times for her 2016 chapter on religion and human rights.
