Meike Schalk is Associate Professor in Urban Design and Urban Theory at KTH School of Architecture. She serves as Head of Doctoral Education and leads research on feminist spatial practices, welfare architecture, and inclusive design methodologies.
Her work examines Nordic welfare housing transformations, participatory design approaches, and equity in architectural education. Research employs oral history, performance, and intersectional analysis to rethink spatial justice in urban environments.
Professor Schalk has held visiting positions at TUM and Oskar von Miller Forum. Awards include Swedish Research Council grants and curatorial funding for the Bloomsbury Global Encyclopedia of Women in Architecture. She serves on the Swedish Research Council's artistic research committee.
