Mehrdaad Ghorashi is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern Maine (USM), part of the College of Science, Technology, & Health. He holds dual Professional Engineer certifications (P.Eng. in Ontario, Canada and P.E. in Maine, U.S.) and has served as an ABET Program Evaluator (2014-2019) and on ASME’s Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Committee. His industry experience includes roles as Quality Control and R&D Manager at Indamine and Iran Vanet in Tehran (1989-1997).

Awards include the 2006 Carleton Student Engineering Society’s Best Professor Award. He has advised no listed students but has led departmental service roles at USM, including Research Council and Core Curriculum Committee memberships.
