Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Özarslan serves as the Dean and a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Eastern Mediterranean University. He earned his BS (1997), MS (2000), and PhD (2005) degrees in Mathematics from Ankara University.
His research focuses on fractional calculus, special functions (including Mittag-Leffler, Charlier, and Appell polynomials), and approximation theory. Recent work explores orthogonal polynomials, difference equations, and operator-based analytical methods.
He has received the EMU Publication Citation Award annually from 2017 to 2021. As an advisor, he has supervised 10+ PhD and Master's students on topics spanning fractional calculus, approximation operators, and special functions, with several ongoing supervisions.
