Meghan Ramsden

Meghan Ramsden is the Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer for the MSc Nursing at the University of Sunderland. She is also a PhD candidate researching 'How do Women experience Motherhood, Higher Education (as students) and Paid Employment concurrently?'. Her academic background includes a BA Sociology (2015), PGCE (2018), and MSc Inequality and Society (2020).

Her research focuses on qualitative methodologies, feminist theory, and social constructionism. She emphasizes frameworks like critical realism in her PhD thesis. Teaching priorities include fostering inclusive learning environments using action learning and needs analysis. She leads the HSSM74 module on Inequalities in Global Health Systems and contributes to courses like HSSM69 (Leadership and Management in Health) and HSSM71 (Teaching and Learning).

Ramsden’s pedagogical work integrates cultural competency and addresses academic integrity. Her research spans gender studies, health inequalities, and the intersections of motherhood with education and employment.
