Megan T. Demarest

Dr. Megan T. Demarest is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Delaware Valley University and Chair of the Criminal Justice Department. She teaches courses such as Drugs, Crime & Society, Penology, and Criminology, emphasizing corrections, reentry experiences, and intersections of race, class, and gender in crime.

• Education: BA in Criminology (minor in Psychology) from Lycoming College, PhD in Criminology from the University of Delaware
• Prior Roles: Alternative to incarceration program coordinator, researcher/project coordinator at University of Delaware Center for Drug and Health Studies
• Current Roles: Faculty associate at University of Delaware Center for Drug and Health Studies, member of Bucks County Reentry Coalition

Her research focuses on prison programming, reentry initiatives, and societal impacts on criminal justice systems. She joined DelVal in Spring 2022 and maintains affiliations with institutions advancing criminal justice reform.
