Megan Hart-Fernandez

Megan Hart-Fernandez is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the College of Nursing at the University of Iowa. She holds a DNP (2012), MSN (2011), and BSN (Mount Mercy College) in Nursing. Her expertise includes psychiatric-mental health nursing, occupational health nursing, and migrant health care. Since 2020, she has operated a free-standing clinical practice, offering both patient care and global virtual/in-person trainings on mental and occupational health. Her teaching methods emphasize psychotherapy techniques to reduce student anxiety and boost confidence. She focuses on holistic healthcare for all ages, particularly those with mental health challenges, occupational injuries, and their communities.
