About
Megan Frith is a Researcher in the Department of Education at the University of York. She is affiliated with the Child and Adolescent Neurodevelopmental Diversity (CANDY) research group led by Professor Umar Toseeb and the Psychology in Education Research Centre (PERC).
Her research centers on child and adolescent development with emphasis on under-researched groups including children with special educational needs (SEN), mental health trajectories, and transdiagnostic approaches to psychopathology. She investigates social functioning (violent offending, antisocial behavior, hyperactivity, inattention, bullying, conduct problems) and emotional functioning (anxiety, depression, self-harm, wellbeing) through large-scale population data.
Frith specializes in advanced quantitative methods including structural equation modelling, latent factor modelling, mediation/moderation analyses, measurement invariance testing, and longitudinal analyses. Her work leverages major datasets such as The Millennium Cohort Study, the Growing up in Scotland Study, and The Mental Health in Children and Young People Survey to improve social, emotional, and educational outcomes.
