Meg Howton is a Lecturer (Full-Time) in the Department of Art and Art History at The University of Alabama, located in Tuscaloosa. She holds an MFA in ceramics from Southern Illinois University (2022), a post-baccalaureate in ceramics from the University of Florida (2018), and a BFA in studio art (ceramics) from The University of Alabama (2016).

Her research focuses on ceramics, with works showcased in juried exhibitions such as Clay+ (Clay Center of New Orleans), NCECA Student Juried Exhibition (Cincinnati), and Metal and Mud 2020 (Edwardsville, IL). She has been an artist-in-residence at the Hope Center of Arts and Technology (Sharon, PA) and received the Windgate Grant in 2019.
Teaching highlights include leading the ceramics area at UA Art Camp (2022) and serving as Acting Visiting Artist Program Coordinator at Southern Illinois University. She currently teaches ceramics and is affiliated with Garland Hall, 307, on the UA campus.
