About
Dr. Meet Zandawala is an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada Reno, affiliated with the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He also collaborates with the Neurobiology and Genetics group at the Biocenter of the University of Würzburg, Germany.
Research Interests: His work focuses on understanding how neuropeptides and their G-protein coupled receptors modulate behaviors and physiological processes in Drosophila melanogaster, including feeding, metabolism, stress, reproduction, and circadian rhythms. His lab employs CRISPR/Cas9, Drosophila genetics, optogenetics, calcium imaging, and behavioral analyses to dissect these mechanisms.
Recent Publications: Dr. Zandawala's recent studies (2024) span neuropeptide signaling in insulin regulation, diuretic hormone function, connectome mapping, and evolutionary endocrinology. His work integrates molecular, genetic, and computational approaches to explore neuroendocrine mechanisms in Drosophila.
