Meagan Helman

Meagan Helman is an Adjunct Professor at the Florida State University School of Dance and currently serves as Interim Artistic Director for The Tallahassee Ballet. She holds a BA in Dance from Goucher College and an MA in Dance from Florida State University. Her professional background spans over a decade as a principal dancer with Ballet Theatre of Maryland (BTM), where she performed leading roles in classical and contemporary works. She has also served as Ballet Mistress for BTM, choreographer, and educator, with her choreography featured by multiple institutions including FSU and The Tallahassee Ballet.

and she actively contributes to FSU’s School of Dance as its official photographer, capturing performances for publication in Dance Magazine and other industry journals. Helman is also an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher (Pre-Primary through Level 3) and serves on the FSU Friends of Dance Leadership Council since 2017.

Her creative work bridges performance, pedagogy, and visual arts, emphasizing technical precision and artistic innovation in dance.
