McKenzie Ratner

Dr. McKenzie Ratner is an LSE Fellow in International Relations, specializing in international institutions and political economy. Her PhD and MSc were completed at LSE following undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee.

Research examines:

• Compliance dynamics in international law
• Conditionality design in IOs
• EU policy implementation
• Environmental/social standard adoption

Analyses incentive structures influencing state decisions to exceed international obligations. Focuses on ILO, UNFCCC and EU policy frameworks.

Teaching includes International Organisations and Political Economy courses. Develops quantitative methods for governance analysis.
