Max Murphy

Max Murphy is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Biomedical Engineer at the NeuroMechatronics Lab within the Neuroscience Institute. He is co-advised by Darcy Griffin and Doug Weber, focusing on collaborative projects that bridge rehabilitation and neuroscience with a technical emphasis on non-surgical stimulation of the central nervous system.

• Primary research involves simultaneous neural recordings from motor cortex and motor thalamus in non-human primates performing wrist-centric tasks
• Technical lead on high-density electromyography (HD-EMG) acquisition from non-human primates
• Maintains unofficial resources for the NeuroMechatronics Lab including a GitHub repository and technical blog

His research interests span neuroscience, rehabilitation engineering, and biomedical signal processing, with particular attention to neural interface technologies and motor system electrophysiology.
