Mavis Reimer

Mavis Reimer is Professor in the Department of English and Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of Winnipeg. She held the prestigious Canada Research Chair in Young People’s Texts and Cultures from 2005 to 2015. Her academic journey began with an M.A. thesis on Renaissance/Jacobean drama, evolving into doctoral work on feminist children's literature during her early motherhood. Her research critically examines how young people's texts shape societal consensus through power dynamics, ideology, and reader engagement.
