Maureen Fischer

Maureen Fischer, OTD, OTR/L is an Assistant Professor in the OT Programs at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS), located in St. Augustine, FL. She is affiliated with the College of Rehabilitative Sciences. Her academic career includes roles as a lab assistant (2019), contributing faculty (primarily in pediatrics courses), and core faculty (since 2022). She holds a Post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (Chatham University, 2022) and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (East Carolina University, 1997).

Her research focuses on parent education in developmental milestones and promoting development in infants and young children. She has 11 years of clinical experience in early intervention in Maryland, specializing in NICU care, pediatric telehealth, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She co-founded AskanOT, a business offering developmental education and consultative services to families. Her work bridges occupational therapy into pediatric primary care settings, emphasizing evidence-based practices.

Dr. Fischer’s career spans clinical roles at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and a Level 1 trauma center, alongside teaching and administrative contributions at USAHS.
