Dr. Maureen Bauer serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics-Allergy/Immunology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus School of Medicine, where she also directs the Allergy & Immunology Fellowship program. She maintains clinical practice at Children's Hospital Colorado at both the Anschutz Medical Campus and South Campus locations in Highlands Ranch.

Dr. Bauer's research focuses on pediatric allergic conditions with particular emphasis on food allergy, eosinophilic esophagitis, asthma, and drug allergy. Her clinical interests span the full spectrum of allergic disorders including environmental allergies, eczema, urticaria, and anaphylaxis. She approaches patient care with a strong emphasis on listening to patients and families while balancing textbook knowledge with the human aspects of medicine.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong focus on eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, food allergy management, and innovative approaches to allergy testing and treatment. Her work frequently addresses quality improvement in allergy care, including telemedicine applications during the pandemic and de-implementation of unnecessary testing. She has contributed significantly to understanding complications in eosinophilic disorders and the nutritional impacts of food allergy restrictions.
