Maura Spiegel

Maura Spiegel is Senior Lecturer in English and Film Studies at Columbia University, where she also co-directs the Narrative Medicine track at Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Her interdisciplinary work bridges literary studies, film theory, and medical education.

Research Focus: Spiegel's scholarship examines narrative theory, emotional histories, and medical humanities. She teaches film courses to medical students as part of Columbia's narrative medicine program, exploring how storytelling enhances clinical practice.
