Matthieu Alaniou

Matthieu Alaniou is a researcher at the Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics and Acoustics (LMFA - UMR 5509), a joint research unit affiliated with École Centrale de Lyon, INSA Lyon, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and CNRS. The laboratory focuses on fundamental and applied research in fluid mechanics and acoustics.

His research interests span multiple areas within fluid dynamics including aeroacoustics of rotating machinery, turbulence modeling, environmental flows, and multi-phase fluid systems. The laboratory is organized into several research teams focusing on specialized areas such as Acoustics, Environmental Flows, Multi-physics/Multi-phase/Multi-scale Flows, Turbulence & Instabilities, and Turbomachinery.

The research conducted at LMFA utilizes advanced experimental methods including PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry), Laser Doppler Velocimetry, and various visualization techniques, along with numerical simulations and computational fluid dynamics approaches.
