Matthias Goerges

Matthias Goerges is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine. He serves as an Investigator at BC Children's Hospital and Co-Lead of Clinical & Community Data, Analytics & Informatics within the Evidence to Innovation research theme. His interdisciplinary work bridges engineering, computer science, and healthcare to develop innovative technologies primarily in pediatric anesthesia and intensive care settings.

Dr. Goerges' research focuses on digital health predictive analytics, anesthesiology decision support systems, and critical care medicine. His team's work includes the VitalPAD application for critical care monitoring, post-surgical pain risk communication tools, and mobile applications for diabetes management and mental health support.
