Matthias Gather is a Professor of Transport Policy and Regional Planning at the Faculty of Economics, Logistics and Transportation of Erfurt University of Applied Sciences since 1996. He serves as a doctoral supervisor for the Faculty Altonaer Straße and chairs the Thuringian Council for Sustainability.
His research focuses on the interrelations between political governance of sustainable transport and spatial development. Key areas include transport economics and policies, regional development, and spatial/environmental planning.
