Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith is a Lecturer in Biochemistry at the University of Sunderland. He holds an MChem and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status. His research focuses on using chemistry to address biological problems, particularly in

• Biotherapeutics (peptide/DNA/RNA synthesis)
• Drug-conjugates (ADCs, PDCs, PROTACs)
• Medicinal chemistry (anti-cancer small-molecule inhibitors)
• Biocatalysis (enzyme catalyst development)
