Dr. Matthew Scinto is Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of Orchestral Activities at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he conducts the WPI Orchestra. As Founder and Music Director of the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, he develops interdisciplinary performances integrating music with regional history and visual arts.
His work focuses on orchestral conducting, community-engaged arts programming, and music-based interventions for dementia care. He creates curriculum using music appreciation and conducting techniques to support individuals with memory loss.
Dr. Scinto has developed specialized programs for memory care facilities and collaborates with the Alzheimer's Family Support Center of Cape Cod on Arts & Ideas programming for caregivers and individuals with memory impairment.
