Matthew Ricketson is Deakin Distinguished Professor and Associate Head of School (Research) at Deakin University's School of Communication and Creative Arts. A former journalist, his research examines journalism practice, literary journalism, media ethics, and the future of public interest journalism. He edits the Australian Journalism Review and contributes to media policy debates.
