Dr. Matthew Mehaffey is Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Minnesota. Holding a D.M.A. from University of Arizona and M.M. from Westminster Choir College, he leads the University Singers and teaches choral literature.
As Artistic Director of Oratorio Society of Minnesota, he develops innovative programming that revitalizes classical oratorio for modern audiences. His publications focus on choral rehearsal techniques through GIA Publications.
Honors include the Arthur 'Red' Motley Exemplary Teaching Award (2015). He co-directs the English Heritage Music Series archive project and previously served as Music Director of the GRAMMY-nominated Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh.
