Matthew Malkowski

Matthew Malkowski is an Assistant Professor at the Jackson School of Geosciences, The University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on sedimentology, stratigraphy, and tectonic geomorphology, using the Earth's sedimentary record to address modern environmental challenges.

Malkowski studies mountain belts and ocean basins to decipher their formation through climate, tectonic movement, and sea level change. Recent publications emphasize detrital zircon provenance, basin evolution in Patagonia and Tibet, and sediment transport modeling. His research spans global fieldwork from Patagonia to Alaska and Tibet.
