Matthew Jones is a Professor of Viola and Head of Chamber Music at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He holds a first-class mathematics degree from the University of Warwick and studied violin at the Royal College of Music. His career spans international performance as a soloist and chamber musician, with notable groups including Ensemble MidtVest and the Bridge Duo. He has premiered works by composers like Tolibkhon Shakhidi and Gordon Crosse, and his recordings include Naxos albums such as Britten: Reflections, recognized by BBC Music Magazine.
