Matthew Jacobson, PhD is the Associate Director of the Quantitative Biosciences Consortium and a Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the UCSF School of Pharmacy. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences across the Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine.
Research in the Jacobson Lab focuses on atomic-level mechanisms of protein regulation and protein-ligand interactions, utilizing physics-based energy models for predictive protein modeling. The lab combines algorithm development with biological applications and computer-aided drug design in projects.
He is affiliated with the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) at UCSF, and graduate programs including Biological and Medical Informatics, Biophysics, and Chemistry and Chemical Biology.
