Matthew Isaacson is an Associate Professor of Art in Ceramics at Austin Community College. His work combines sculptural installations, high-relief ceramic tile forms, and architectural elements, often inspired by ancient ziggurats and geometric patterns. Born in Traverse City, Michigan, his upbringing on an industrial fruit-manufacturing farm influences his artistic practice.

His research focuses on ceramic arts, large-scale clay manipulation, and interdisciplinary approaches to sculpture. Isaacson has exhibited nationally and internationally, including solo shows at the Duane Reed Gallery and Luminary Center for the Arts, and participated in the Xin Jiang International Sculpture Exhibition in China.

Isaacson teaches Ceramics I (ARTS 2346) and Ceramics II (ARTS 2347), emphasizing material mastery and creative potential. His past residencies include the Luminary Center for the Arts, Ox-Bow School of Art, and Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts.
