Matthew Grindal

Dr. Matthew Grindal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Culture, Society and Justice at the University of Idaho's College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside and M.A./B.A. degrees from California State University, Northridge.

His teaching portfolio includes courses on criminology, juvenile delinquency, family violence, substance use and crime, inequalities in justice systems, and sociological research methods. His research examines socio-criminological patterns, systemic inequalities, and violence dynamics within justice systems.

At the University of Idaho, Dr. Grindal maintains regular office hours and advises students in the Criminology and Sociology programs, contributing to our understanding of justice system dynamics.
