Matthew Friedel

Matthew Friedel is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's School of Information Studies and an Adjunct Faculty member at Marquette University. He co-founded the Disruptive Technologies Lab at UWM, focusing on emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and IoT. Friedel teaches graduate courses in AI applications and disruptive technologies at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center, emphasizing cross-disciplinary innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.

Education: Matthew holds an MBA and MS in Engineering from Marquette University, a BS in Mechanical Engineering (Cum Laude) from UW-Milwaukee, and a Professional Engineering license from Wisconsin. He completed an Entrepreneurial Training Program and has consulting experience with companies like Northwestern Mutual and Kohls.

Research interests include practical applications of AI, blockchain development, and fostering tech entrepreneurship. His courses integrate hands-on projects in emerging technologies, reflecting his industry experience.
