Matthew Fisher joined North Carolina State University in January 2014 as part of the Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program cluster hire in Translational Regenerative Medicine. He serves as an Associate Professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research focuses on musculoskeletal soft tissues, exploring tissue engineering and regenerative medicine solutions for injuries, with emphasis on bioscaffold fabrication, outcome prediction, and functional assessment.
His work is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), and the William R. Kenan, Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, editorials, and book chapters.
