Matthew Felice

Matthew Felice serves as an Adjunct Professor of International Relations at Florida International University's Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs, while concurrently working as an operations research analyst for United States Africa Command. He earned his PhD from FIU in 2021 with a dissertation on national material capabilities in warfare, and holds an MA in Diplomacy and International Commerce from the University of Kentucky.

His professional expertise spans security cooperation, strategic planning, and counterterrorism, developed through roles at United States Southern Command, United States Africa Command, and deployments including service with United States Forces - Afghanistan as part of the Civilian Expeditionary Workforce. His research examines conflict patterns, military capability distributions, and energy-security intersections.

Recent publications analyze conflict intensity modeling, material capabilities in warfare, and operational challenges in military contexts. His academic work intersects with practical security policy implementation.
