Matthew Escarra is Professor and Co-Director of Tulane Instrumentation for Nanoscience & Innovation. With a PhD from Princeton (2011), his research develops photonic materials for energy, health, and environmental applications. Current projects include high-efficiency solar cells, infrared transmissive concentrators, and laser-fabricated nanomaterials.
Recent publications focus on MoS2 photovoltaics for space applications and hybrid solar-thermal systems. He teaches engineering design and semiconductor device courses while leading Tulane's clean energy research initiatives.
