Matthew E. Braun

Matthew E. Braun is the Director of the Law Library and Assistant Library Professor of Law at Saint Louis University’s School of Law. He oversees the Vincent C. Immel Law Library and teaches Advanced Legal Research. His academic background includes a B.S. from Miami University (1999), J.D. from The Ohio State University (2003), and an M.S.L.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2005).

His research focuses on Intellectual Property Law, Administrative Law, Legal Technology, and Legal Bibliography. He has held leadership roles in professional organizations such as the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the Mid-America Association of Law Libraries (MAALL). Previously, he served in administrative and teaching roles at the University of Illinois, University of Iowa, and The George Washington University Law School. He is licensed to practice law in Ohio.

Braun’s career emphasizes legal innovation, technology integration in libraries, and advancing legal research methodologies. His community service includes roles at the Law Library of Congress and contributions to professional publications like Law Library Journal and Law Library Lights.
