Matthew Danish

Matthew Danish, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology) at Yale School of Medicine, where he is affiliated with the Department of Medicine and the Hematology and Medical Oncology division. He provides clinical care at Smilow Cancer Hospital in Waterford and Westerly, Rhode Island, focusing on both benign and malignant hematological conditions.

Dr. Danish earned his MD and a Master of Medical Science from Drexel University College of Medicine, with research in HIV-1 entry inhibitors. He completed residency at Rutgers University College of Medicine, where he received the Excellence in Teaching Award, and served as Chief Fellow during his fellowship at Brown University. Prior to joining Yale, he practiced at South County Health in Rhode Island.

His research interests include hematology, oncology, infectious diseases, and translational cancer research, with prior experience at the National Cancer Institute and Kumamoto University in Japan. His clinical and academic work bridges patient care and scientific investigation in hematologic disorders.

Dr. Danish has been recognized for his teaching excellence during residency training.

He is actively involved in clinical care and academic medicine at Yale and is not noted as part-time, retired, or former staff.
