Matthew Dalva is a Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology at Tulane University, holding the Phyllis M Taylor Presidential Chair and serving as Director of the Tulane Brain Institute. He earned his Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Duke University in 1996. His research focuses on synaptic development and function, particularly mechanisms governing synapse formation, NMDA receptor regulation, and synaptic nano-architecture.
