Matthew Bourque is an Advanced Lecturer and STAT 103 Course Coordinator in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Loyola University Chicago. He holds a Ph.D. in game theory from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2013) and a bachelor's degree from Oberlin College (1998). Prior to his doctoral studies, he taught in the Mississippi Delta region through Teach For America.
His professional focus includes enhancing undergraduate mathematics education. During his time at UIC, he led summer mathematics preparation programs for incoming freshmen through the ASCEND initiative and contributed to the Emerging Scholars Program, which supports underrepresented STEM students.
